Abstract

Acquiring the habit of reading in early childhood, specifically during early education, is a key process for the child's comprehensive development because it shapes their reading culture within the learning process and thus prevents them from losing interest in developing a reading habit to improve their learning (Zambrano, Saltos Saltos, & De la Peña Consuegra, 2023). Various authors emphasize that early literature serves to achieve the power of words and cultural representation, allowing children to master the language associated with thought, so that they can discover words to describe the outside world, to name what is happening inside them, and to learn human behavior (Aldaz, et al., 2023). A qualitative, descriptive study was conducted. Data were collected through a literature review of high-fidelity articles and journals published between 2021 and 2025. The systematic review allows us to conclude that children's literature is a fundamental pedagogical resource for the formation of reading habits in early education children. Its impact encompasses not only linguistic development, but also cognitive, emotional, social, and cultural dimensions that have a decisive influence on early learning.
