LEARNING STRATEGIES BASED ON CHILDREN'S SONG VIDEO CLIPS TO ENRICH VOCABULARY IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

Abstract
The objective of this research was to develop learning strategies based on children's song video clips to enrich vocabulary in 4-year-old early education children in an Ecuadorian rural context. A pre-experimental study with single-group pre-test and post-test design was conducted, applied to 7 students from Initial Education 2 at Alfredo Baquerizo Moreno Basic Education School, Centinela del Cóndor canton, Zamora, Ecuador. The intervention consisted of 12 weekly 45-minute sessions using thematic musical video clips (animals, colors, emotions, family) based on Vygotsky's sociocultural constructivism, complemented by vocabulary tests evaluating recognition, contextual use, and auditory comprehension. Results evidenced an average improvement of 108% in vocabulary development, increasing from 40.29 points to 82.4 points out of 100, where initially 71% of students had low level and 29% medium level, while after intervention 100% reached high level. Contextual vocabulary use recorded the highest increase (148%), followed by recognition (106%) and auditory comprehension (83%). It is concluded that strategies based on children's song video clips demonstrate high effectiveness as multisensory pedagogical tools for vocabulary enrichment in early education, where motivational, structured repetition, and multisensory factors contributed to intervention success, validating sociocultural constructivism principles and demonstrating viability in rural environments with limited resources.
