Abstract

The increasing use of online learning has forced teachers to reconsider pedagogical strategies through the use of digital tools that allow them to adapt interaction to students' interests and communication habits. Thus, social media has taken on a major role in creating a creative, fun, and collaborative classroom. This paper examines how teachers use social media such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube as teaching resources in the virtual teaching-learning process, focusing on three key aspects: social media pedagogy, its impact on student motivation and participation, and digital skills for creating creative content. Based on a review of theory and teaching practice, it is concluded that the pedagogical and creative use of social media allows for the creation of highly relevant learning situations that simultaneously adapt to the demands of today's digital learning. However, the use of social media requires ongoing training and methodological planning, as well as an ethical and critical approach to the Internet and the use of platforms, emphasizing the risks and possibilities of incorporating them into education. This research advocates understanding social media as potential pedagogical spaces, as opposed to media; interaction, critical thinking, and active student engagement in the educational process. Finally, we seek to test the case for educational policies that promote innovative and remote use of technology in educational practice. However, innovative use of technology requires ongoing training and methodological planning, as well as an ethical and critical approach to the Internet and the use of platforms, emphasizing the risks and possibilities of their incorporation. This research emphasizes understanding the Internet as potential pedagogical spaces, as well as media; interaction, critical thinking, and active student engagement in the educational process.
