FACTORS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO WORKPLACE STRESS IN THE OPERATING ROOM OF THE LUZ ELENA ARIZMENDI PEDIATRIC OBSTETRIC GYNECOLOGY HOSPITAL

Medical and nursing staff working in the operating room are exposed to stressful situations that can lead to more serious mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression, which is why a risk assessment was carried out to identify the causes of stress, consequences and treatment alternatives. To this end, instruments will be applied to identify occupational risks for operating room staff at the Luz Elena Arizmendi Pediatric Gynecological-Obstetric Hospital, which will address the causes of stress, consequences and treatment protocols for operating room staff. The results reveal that overwork is the main cause of work-related stress and it is expected that the results will select the most suitable care measures to reduce stress and other mental illnesses associated with it in the medium term, such as rest time, shift rotation and active breaks, reducing the causes of disability of health personnel and optimizing their performance to safeguard the health of patients.
