Abstract
Community organization is a collective process that a territory uses to drive its local development, as it mobilizes self-management capacity and the skills of its own inhabitants. The central objective was to determine the impact of community organization on the distinct dimensions of local development of the “27 de Enero” Cooperative, Mapasingue Este, during the year 2025. The methodology was structured using a qualitative approach, employing a descriptive-explanatory scope and a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews with the neighborhood council's board, and the analysis was performed using thematic content analysis. The main finding revealed that the community organization exerted a direct and tangible impact on the quality of life, achieving concrete infrastructure improvements (paving and extension of the drinking water network) through self-management and organized pressure, rather than through institutional planning. It was concluded that the cooperative's development was driven by the endogenous strength of the social base, but its sustainability was compromised. The capacity to strengthen social cohesion was high when facing external threats, although trust was unstable and weakened by internal frictions.
