Abstract
The present study analyzes the influence of accounting and tax management on decision-making among micro-entrepreneurs in the parish of Puerto Cayo, Manabí, Ecuador. Using a quantitative, descriptive, and field-based approach, data were collected through surveys, direct observation, and interviews with entrepreneurs and experts in the field. The results reveal significant deficiencies in accounting records, a lack of knowledge about tax regulations, and limited use of financial information for strategic decision-making. These limitations affect the formalization, sustainability, and growth of businesses, highlighting the need to strengthen financial and tax education through contextualized training and continuous advisory support.
