EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE TO DEVELOP AFFECT PEDAGOGY

This research aimed to explore the relationship between emotional intelligence and affect pedagogy in the educational context of the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí in the city of Pedernales, Ecuador. The study was based on data collection through standardized questionnaires to measure the level of emotional intelligence to obtain perceptions and experiences of students, educators and academic leaders. The methodology was cuantitative, which involved the combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches. This choice was based on the need to obtain a holistic and deep understanding of the relationship between emotional intelligence and the pedagogy of affect in the specific educational context of the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí in the city of Pedernales, Ecuador. Standardized and validated questionnaires, such as the EQ-i 2.0, were used to measure specific aspects of emotional intelligence, such as emotional self-awareness, emotional self-regulation, empathy, and skills to explore qualitative aspects of emotional intelligence, such as the influence of personal experiences, emotional coping strategies and perceptions about the integration of emotional intelligence in the educational process.
