FOOD AND NUTRITIONAL EDUCATION: A PEDAGOGICAL EXPERIENCE IN THE COURSE OF FOOD TOXICOLOGY

Developing food and nutrition education is a process that requires the participation of all of us who in one way or another influence the education of the new generations, this work obeys the need to strengthen this conception in students. The objective was to expose the experiences of the Food Toxicology subject in food and nutrition education of third-year students of the Food Sciences career at the Faculty of Applied Sciences. The sample was made up of the 34 third-year students of the degree, who participated in the seminars, videos and workshops carried out. A survey was applied in two moments, in which it was possible to verify that food and nutrition education is a subject known by the students of the career, but not in its entire dimension, an aspect that was promoted in the proposal. It is concluded that the pedagogical experience allowed to improve the integration of the knowledge of the subject with that of food and nutrition education, it was applied to situations that can be found during the professional performance as graduates in Food Sciences, which allows to expand their arguments, during technical scientific information and marketing tasks, related to their sphere of action.
