ECONOMETRICS PERSPECTIVE FOR LOCAL DEVELOPMENT
Keywords:
Econometrics, Local development, DigitizationAbstract
Spatial econometric methods have advanced rapidly, and many studies show the utility of these techniques in various fields. However, they have not yet received enough attention in the context of sustainable development. The main role of local development policy is to create a favorable business environment and new jobs, thus contributing to economic development. System dynamics and econometrics have traditionally been viewed as contrasting and sometimes conflicting approaches to deriving parameters for economic models. The digitization and automation of econometrics has the potential to accelerate national, regional, and local economic development and global economic connections, and some have been remarkably successful in doing so. Despite the prevalence of special economic zones around the world, their performance and impact on the economy and structural transformation are quite mixed. Economic development leads to a progressive change in the socioeconomic structure of the country. So, unlike economic growth, it is also concerned with changes in the technological and institutional mechanisms of production and distribution.
