INFLUENCE OF LEADERSHIP ON THE ORGANIZATIONAL CLIMATE OF SMES IN THE LARVICULTURE SECTOR IN THE SAN PABLO COMMUNE

Abstract
The study aimed to analyze the influence of leadership on the organizational climate of SMEs in the shrimp farming sector of the San Pablo commune. A quantitative approach was used, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design and a descriptive-correlational scope. The population consisted of 98 employees from 10 shrimp larval laboratories, and a sample of 78 individuals was obtained using a formula for finite populations. A Likert-type questionnaire was used to assess perceptions of leadership and organizational climate; the data were then processed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and internal consistency analysis. The results indicate favorable means for leadership and organizational climate, as well as a weak but statistically significant positive correlation between the two variables. However, the reported Cronbach's alpha is not acceptable as an indicator of the instrument's overall reliability, since it was calculated on composite variables rather than on individual items or dimensions. The study concludes that leadership is related to organizational climate. However, it is necessary to interpret the results with caution and recalculate the reliability by dimension before scientific publication.
